KUMINO BRICK was created when we were asked if it was possible to produce Kumino‘s joined building blocks from bricks.When hearing this, it was first necessary to work on a
change in the set common perception of what a brick is.Since bricks are pottery, the biggest challenge was to faithfully reproduce the dimensions of the wooden Kumino blocks.When we succeeded through a process of repeated trial and error, we were delighted. At the same time, there was a great sense of accomplishment in regards to breaking the common understanding of what a brick is.With its excellent heat resistance, fire resistance, weather resistance, the possibility of mass-production, and the versatile uses for other applications, it has all the advantages of brick.We believe compared to off-the-shelf bricks that represent a high DIY threshold, KUMINO BRICK can be assembled easily without great effort and in a playful manner.Finally, we will continue to make bricks in different shapes and sizes to meet the needs of our end users.
